Mentoring
Our support work services enhance daily activities and provide essential assistance within and beyond the household. At Being Mentors, we understand the difficulties that can arise when managing certain tasks, and we firmly believe that having a supportive companion to guide individuals through life skills will significantly improve overall well-being and foster a deep sense of belonging. With expertise in one-on-one and group mentoring, we specialise in engaging with disengaged youth, individuals facing mental health challenges, those living with disabilities and providing tailored support to people of all ages.
Core & Capacity Building
Our focus is on facilitating community, social and civic activities and recreational participation that is fun and meaningful through social events and community engagement. We provide our participants with the support needed to build their independence through self-care activities, sleepover support, assisting with domestic activities and respite care when requested. We build the capacity of our participants by empowering them to lead fulfilling lives that is informed by their individual needs and preferences.
Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an inclusive approach that aims to understand the underlying factors that may influence a person’s quality of life and ability to safely communicate their needs. We work closely with the individual and people who know them best to implement person-centred preventative and response strategies. Overall, we want to create an authentic inclusive environment where individuals can kick goals, have fun and be safe in doing so.
Our team is committed to building positive, personable rapport with NDIS participants by:
- Developing individual supports to understand their NDIS Plan
- Developing the support plan creatively to best meet their individual needs and goals

- Maximising the value for money and flexibility available in their plan and avoid duplication of supports
- Encouraging the setting up of clear and concise service agreements
- Accessing mainstream services and involving these services in planning and coordinating supports (where appropriate) to implement the plan, and any plan review
- Negotiating services to be provided and their prices, develop service agreements and create service bookings with preferred providers
- Offering services and prices as part of any quotable supports
- Facilitating connection to health networks for assessments and health related supports
- Establishing the appropriate claim categories and attributing the correct amount of funds and paying received invoices within agreed timeframes
